John has been in the insurance industry for nearly all his working life. He has held adviser roles before moving into management positions including the Agency business for Colonial Mutual General Insurance in Australia before turning to New Zealand where headed sales and marketing for the Colonial Group in New Zealand. John also held senior executive positions with GE as Managing Director of their mortgage business in New Zealand at a time when GE owned Wizard Home Loans and were New Zealand’s largest non-bank lender. In recent times John has spent 7 plus years managing earthquake claims for Suncorp NZ which included the Vero, AAI, ANZ and AMP brands.
He now resides in Whitianga where he manages Coromandel Insurance Services and is the owner and Managing Director of Coromandel’s only privately owned local radio station CFM.
David insurance career commenced as a tied agent with Colonial Mutual in Wellington back in October 1988. In 1994 along with three other brokers, formed Capital Financial Services (CFS) specialising in all aspects of General and Life insurance. In 2003 he moved to Hamilton where he separated his new business from CFS to form PlusFour Insurance Solutions servicing customers around New Zealand but primarily in Waikato and Bay of Plenty. In February 2012 he took on a short-term contract to assist with earthquake claims in Christchurch was extended several times and ended up in the senior role as Domestic Resolution Manager at Suncorp. That contract concluded in December 2019 and he now resides in Whitianga.
As a broker he has achieved numerous recognition awards and is now excited to be back broking and looking forward to creating peace-of-mind for many Coromandel residents through great insurance solutions.
Originally from the UK, Rob emigrated to New Zealand in 2013 to work as part of the Earthquake Recovery Programme. Prior to moving, he graduated in 2009 from the University of Manchester with a degree in Commercial Management and Quantity Surveying going on to work as a Quantity Surveyor delivering commercial projects for regional local authorities. In New Zealand he’s worked as a Quantity Surveyor for Fletcher EQR and then joined Morgan Project Services as part of their PMO to Suncorp working on Canterbury Earthquake claims and more recently the Kaikoura Earthquake response. The latter has provided a diverse range of experiences in claims management from assessing damage to appropriate insurance policy response on rural, commercial and residential claims.
In 2019 Rob moved to Thames to manage the Thames office of Coromandel Insurance Services and is now enjoying the career change where his experience gained in Christchurch managing and assisting customers with Earthquake claims can be applied to the many clients of Coromandel Insurance Services.
Outside of work, Rob is a keen golfer.
Tony has been in the insurance game since 1999 across a range of the large NZ insurance players including Colonial, Sovereign, Tower and Partners Life. He has covered various roles in financial advice, key account management, earthquake claims management and government relations.
Most recently, at Vero, Tony was charged with addressing claims in relation to Kaikoura earthquake, a challenge that required enormous empathy and problem solving skills.
As a natural relationship builder, Tony is at home in insurance. Listening, making sure people have the optimal cover, ensuring they understand the details, and then helping people in their time of need is what drives him.
Insurance is important: he’ll demystify it, tailor it, and be there when it matters most.
Tony has worked with John David and Robert before and is proud to be establishing the Auckland office of Coromandel Insurance Services.
If you spend any of your life on the North Shore roads, you’ll probably have seen Tony’s high vest and socks as he bikes around the East Coast Bays. He’s an avid mountain biker and recently placed on the podium at the NZ Masters Games.
Kim has worked in the insurance industry for over 20 years and thrives on providing a friendly, hassle-free service to our many loyal clients and always looks forward to welcoming new customers. Kim lives in Thames with her partner, Dave.
Kim loves to spend time with grandchildren as well as making the most of the various coastal and rail trail walks that the Coromandel has to offer.
David Warwood has joined the CIS Broking team as Administration Manager looking after our many eastern Coromandel clients from our Whitianga office. David has been in the broking business for over 2 years and was previously with Aon.
Rebecca joined the team at CIS from AMP Assure in Thames. Coming from a Customer Service background, where she has worked in retail, banking and hospitality she prides herself in delivering an efficient friendly service to our Wealthpoint clients.
Living most of her life in Thames with her husband Paul, and 2 children Keegan and Cameron, she is passionate about being involved in our community through her love of sport and her families involvement with Swimming.
